Welcome to Perry Nursery School

DonorsChoose.org Update:

In our most recent newsletter, we mentioned that you would be able to find us on DonorsChoose.org.  This is a web site dedicated to providing donors with a chance to donate directly to classroom project expenses.  UNFORTUNATELY, it seems they only cater to the public schools.  If the requirements change (we are in the process of trying to convince them of the need in non-profit programs like ours) then we will let you all know.

In the meantime, please feel free to check out our HELPING PERRY button on this web site and go to WISH LISTS to see classroom wish lists.  Thank you!

Happy Anniversary!

Perry Nursery is celebrating 75 years of serving the community.  To find out how you can help us celebrate, go the menu and click on "Upcoming Events" to learn more.

The Need for Perry Nursery School

It is a documented fact that without early intervention, at-risk youth enter kindergarten approximately two years behind their peers.  Quality kindergarten readiness programs, like the one at Perry Nursery School, ensures that our at-risk children have equal opportunities to begin their academic careers.

Our Mission

To prepare preschool children, primarily from single-parent and low income families, to succeed in school, while their parents work or continue their education.

Our Objectives

1) to provide all students exposure to pre-literacy and pre-math skills:

2) to help children make measurable gains in language skills, social cooperation and impulse control; and

3) to keep high quality education accessible to at-risk children by maintaining an affordable, sliding scale tuition.

By fulfilling these objectives, we will help at-risk children enter their formal school years with a similar level of preparation as their non-disadvantaged peers.
