What's New At Perry?

Peek At Perry!

  • Come one, come all!  Perry Nursery invites you to get a first-hand glimpse inside the inner workings of our early education program.  We are hosting a series of "Peek at Perry" guided tours from October through May.  These tours are open to the public.
  •  Our tour schedule for 2006 is Thursday, November 16 and Tuesday, December 12 from 8am - 9am at our center located at 3770 Packard between Carpenter and Platt Roads in Ann Arbor.   Interested persons may contact the Development Office at 734.677.8130 for more information.

Annual Holiday Gift Drive

  • It's that special time of year!  Perry Nursery is in search of sponsors to "adopt" a Perry child for the holidays.  Interested persons may contact Heavenly Jackson, Development Director, at 734.677.8130 for details.  We hope to enlist your help in making the holiday wishes of our girls and boys come true this year!

We've Earned Our Stripes!

  • HURRAY!  The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has just approved the renewal of Perry Nursery's early childhood programming accreditation!  While almost everyone agrees that children need high quality educational experiences, only a small fraction (seven-percent) of the nation's preschool centers pursue formal accreditation.  Perry Nursery is fortunate to be among the few that have "gone the extra mile" to earn and maintain the highly regarded NAEYC seal of approval.

 Fall Enrollment

  • Perry Nursery School of Ann Arbor is now enrolling for fall kindergarten and preschool.  Our programs serve children, ages 2.5 - 6years whose parents work, reside and/or attend school in Washtenaw County.  Special priority is given to children turing age four by December 1, 2006.  For more information, please call Sandy Hilton, Executive Director at 734.677.8130.

Perry Nursery School of Ann Arbor provides full-time, year around early childhood education and intervention services in a child-centered, literacy-rich environment that builds on school readiness skills.  The goal is to meet the physical, emotional and cognitive developmental needs of at-risk children within Washtenaw County.

Recent early childhood development studies have surfaced in the local news describing the benefits of early childhood education for children, ages 0-5 years.  Studies, such as, "Investing In Our Children: What We Know And Don't Know About the Costs and Benefits of Early Childhood Interventions," demonstrate a strong correlation between high quality early childhood programs and the life-long success of the children who attend such programs.  The study cites higher gains in education levels, higher income earnings, stronger family stability as well as lower incidences of teen pregnancy, substance abuse and criminal activity.
